Thank you to everyone who submitted questions over the past several weeks. I honestly did not know what kind of response I would receive when I started this little “Questions of Faith” experiment, but you gave me plenty to think, pray and write about. Some questions were fairly straightforward. Others made me stare at my computer screen for a while and wonder why I did not choose an easier hobby, like golf.
I tried to answer as many of the questions as I could. I hope the conversations have been helpful, encouraging and most importantly, grounded in Scripture. I certainly do not pretend to have all the answers. Part of growing in our faith is being willing to ask honest questions, search God’s Word and trust Him with the things we still do not completely understand.
For now, I am going to take a break from the Questions of Faith series and return to what has become my sweet spot, writing daily posts from specific sections of Scripture. There is something I deeply enjoy about opening a passage, sitting with it for a while and asking, “What does God want us to see here and what difference should it make in the way we live today?” As the psalmist wrote, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path” (Psalm 119:105, NLT). On Monday, we are headed back into the Word, one passage at a time. I may bring Questions of Faith back again in the future. I am confident there are plenty of questions left. Apparently, none of us has figured everything out yet.
Thank you for reading, submitting questions, sharing posts and being willing to wrestle with some difficult subjects alongside me. I am grateful for the conversation. Now, back to Scripture. I think that is a pretty good place for all of us to be.
